  • The ABB capacitor unit type HiQ is designed for heavy-duty operation in Shunt, Harmonic Filter, Series Capacitor, SVC and HVDC applications in all climatic conditions. More than 150 000 units have been successfully supplied all over the world in the last decade.
  • HiQ is a single-phase power capacitor of all film type, with very low dielectric losses and long lifetime. The capacitors are impregnated with a bio-degradable, non-PCB fluid with a high insulation strength. The edges of the electrode foils are folded, enabling higher electrical stress. The ABB capacitor units have an extremely low failure rate and high reliability. HiQ capacitor units are available with Internal or External Fuses or Fuseless.

  • Three Phase High Voltage
  • Capacitor Unit : Capacitor units consist of a number of series and parallel connected elements. Each element comprises polypropylene film between aluminium foil electrodes. The elements are impregnated with an environmentally acceptable biodegradable liquid Impregnant. Losses are extremely low, less than 0.1 watts/kvar. The units are unfused. Discharge resistors are fitted internally to reduce residual voltage to 50 volts within 5 minutes after de-energisation (alternatively 75 volts within 10 minutes to IEC 871).
• MV Contactor (V-Contact VSC) ; The medium voltage V-Contact VSC contactors are apparatus suitable for operating in alternating current and are normally used to control users requiring a high number of hourly operations. The V-Contact VSC contactor introduces the drive with permanent magnets, already widely used, experimented and appreciated in medium voltage circuit-breakers, into the worldwide panorama of medium voltage contractors.
• MV GCB HD4 ; HD4 medium voltage circuit-breakers use sulphur hexafluoride gas (SF6) to extinguish the electic arc and as the insulating medium. Breaking in SF6 gas takes place without any arc chopping and without generation of overvoltages. These characteristics ensure long electrical life of the circuit-breaker and limited dynamic, dielectric and thermal stresses on the instillation.
• MV VCB VD4 ; General characteristics of fixed circuit breakers (12 kV). The new VD4 are asynthesis of the renowned technology in designing and constructing vacuum interrupters embedded in resin poles, and of excellency in design, engineering and production of circuit breakers.
• Current Transformer ; The TPU 4x.xx transformer are casted in epoxi resin and designed for insulation voltages from 3.6 kV to 12 kV or 17.5 kV (for rated currents till 1250 A). Modification of primary terminals or insulation barries designed for specific switchboard designs may be agreed between the manufacturer and the customer. The transformer are manufactured in conformitif with dimension stared hereunder. The TPU 4x.xx transformer are designed as single-turn or multi-turn version, with one transformer ratio or with windings having the possibility to be reconnectible on turn primary or on the secondary side.
• Voltage Transformer; Voltage Transformer UMZ type are intended for suplying measuring and protective circuits of electrical power devices with rated voltages from 1 to 24 [kV] and frequency 50 or 60 Hz separate measuring and protective equipment from the high voltage side. These voltage transformer are designed for operation in indoor equipment, in temperate (N3) or tropical (T3) climate conditions.
• Relay REF 610 ;
  • REF 610 is a versatile multifunction protection relay mainly designed for protection of incoming and outgoing feeders in MV distribution substations. REF 610 can also be used as back-up protection for motors, transformers and generators, in industrial as well as in utility applications.
  • The large number of integrated protection functions, including three-stage overcurrent protection, two-stage, non-directional earth-fault protection as well as thermal protection, makes REF 610 a complete protection against overcurrent and earth faults.

• Relay SPAJ 140C ; he combined overcurrent and earth-faultrelay SPAJ 140 C is intended to be used for the selective short-circuit and earth-fault protection of radial feeders in solidly earthed, resistance earthed or impedance earthed power systems. The integrated protection relay includes an overcurrent unit and an earth-fault unit with flexible tripping and signalling facilities. The overcurrent and earth-fault relays can also be used for other applications requiring single-, two-, or three-phase overcurrent protection. The combined over-current and earth-fault relay includes a circuit-breaker failure protection unit. The combined overcurrent and earth-fault relay SPAJ 140 C is part of ABB™ Distribution Automation concept, the complete ABB solution for the control and management of electric power systems.
• MV Fuses : The HRC generation of fuse link type CEF are designed and tested according to IEC publication 60282-1 (IEC 282-1). Dimensionally the fuse are in accordance with DIN 43625. ABB`s high voltage fuse links have the following properties:
  • Low minimum breaking current
  • Low power losses
  • Low arc-voltage
  • High breaking capacity
  • High current limitation.
• Is Limiter ;
  • s-limiters are frequently used in the coupling between two systems or parts of systems whose short circuit withstand capability would not be sufficient with parallel connection via a circuit breaker.
  • Instead of designing the two systems for double the short-circuit current, an Is-limiter is installed in the coupling. In the case of a fault, it limits the peak short-circuit current at the very first rise. It separates the systems electrically into two parts before the short-circuit current can endanger system components. After separation, only the faulty part of the system still feeds the short circuit, which is selectively shut down by the relevant circuit breaker. The peak short-circuit current thus does not become higher than the short-circuit current from a single transformer at any point in the switchgear. When the Is-limiter trips, the voltage in the part of the system not affected by the short circuit only drops for fractions of a millisecond at most.
  • Even sensitive loads are thus protected from voltage dips. The Is-limiter is therefore also highly suitable for installation in the coupling between an unprotected system.
